Cutting-edge technology for OCS inspection.
Rail infrastructure managers today are looking for innovative, technology-based approaches to optimise the maintenance and operation of their networks, as they face increasing pressure from service uptime demand and higher management standards. This can be challenging to achieve for some systems, such as the Overhead Catenary System (OCS). Limited maintenance windows and predominantly manual processes make it difficult to efficiently and accurately inspect and measure wire positioning, thickness, and condition. We have developed Strukton Wire Scan, a solution that automates the inspection, measurement, and reporting of OCS condition.
A solution that automates the inspection, measurement, and reporting of OCS condition.
Strukton Wire Scan uses advanced automatic scanning technology to measure the position and condition of overhead catenary, reducing the need for manual, physical inspections. Output data includes thickness, height, stagger, and dynamics. Strukton Wire Scan can be used on all electrified rail networks (via overhead wire), such as heavy rail, light rail and streetcar systems. Data can then be analysed and presented to infrastructure managers as a basis for making informed and reliable maintenance decisions.
Strukton Wire Scan provides infrastructure managers with the following deliverables:
The Strukton Track Scan is a laser-based system that gathers track data quickly, objectively and safely, measuring condition and geometry.
The Leonardo Inspection train maps tracks and their surroundings digitally
