Start electrification railway line Hamont - Mol

On behalf of Infrabel, Strukton Rail is electrifying Belgian railway line 19. This railway line runs between Hamont and Mol.

The 33-kilometre railway line is being completely electrified so that trains will be able to run electrically from the end of 2020. The work will start at the end of 2018.

Overhead line and cables
In total, we will be placing 830 new overhead line poles and rolling out over 200 kilometres of new cables and wires for the overhead line. We start work on the construction of a yard installation in Lommel and making the channels for cables and pipes.

On Thursday 23 August 2018, Federal Minister of Mobility François Bellot and Infrabel CEO Luc Lallemand, together with several mayors from the region, gave the starting signal for this ambitious project.

At the end of 2020, the first electric trains will be able to use the railway.
