Early this morning, the first big project within the Train Protection Replacement Programme (PVT) was successfully completed.
The brand new train protection system was installed on the Eindhoven, Weert, Roermond and Budel route. During this 9-day shutdown, the new train protection system was connected, intensively tested and from this morning successfully commissioned.
Last year, Strukton Rail and Verebus engineering consultants, renewed all the components of the train protection system along the route. Between Eindhoven and Roermond and between Weert and Budel, there are a total of 1400 kilometres of new cables and pipelines under the ground. Strukton Rail also replaced 150 signal posts and built four new relay boxes.
