Both in the Netherlands and abroad, the Easter weekend lends itself perfectly to rail engineering works.
Indeed, a great deal of work has been planned for the coming days. The works listed out:
The Netherlands
Amsterdam RAI: The renovation train will replace 1,700 metres of sleepers
Denmark
Valby – Frederikssund: The renewal of cable ducts along the entire line and the renovation of siding 3 in Ballerup. If the temperature is above freezing point, we will renew a section of the track. The work on this project will be continued in weeks 23-34
Belgium
Lombeek – Anderlecht – line 50: Making available four tracks including dismantling points, installing new points with Gottwald cranes, installing points heaters and rolling out 20 kilometres of cable. This work will be done by the departments Track, Signalling and Overhead Wire
Leuven – Mechelen – line 53: The renovation of two kilometres of track and three level crossings
Hasselt: Install new points wire by Overhead Wire (Easter Monday)
Sweden
Västra Götaland – Göteborg: Work around Gothenburg station, including work on overhead wire
Södra main line 2: Work to include inspections of the track and overhead wire, groundwork, renewal of sleepers and points components
