Click & Go energy supply for forward-looking public transport companies

OV Energiebank

Public transport operators have had to wait years for new connections to the grid operator’s electricity grid before more trams can run in the city. But those days are over. Because Strukton Rail Netherlands is now introducing the new generation of Click & Go substations for tram networks: The OV Energiebank.

The OV Energiebank marks new generation of Click & Go substations for trams

The OV Energiebank is a full-scale substation that reinforces the power supply for trams on the existing rail network. A connection to the electricity grid is not required. The OV Energiebank stores the required power using the overhead line and delivers that electricity back to passing trams.

This unplugged substation is flexible to use and can be connected quickly to the overhead lines. As structural reinforcement of the energy supply. Or as a temporary energy boost during diversions and events: Click & Go.

A second life

The OV Energiebank is designed to perform optimally with batteries from the public transport company’s first generation of city and regional buses. This is giving those high-quality batteries the second life they deserve.

The size of a parking space

This beautifully designed powerhouse fits on a normal parking space. And gives something back to the neighbourhood in which it is positioned. As a charging station for electric vehicles. And as a neighbourhood battery.

The OV Energiebank – the surprisingly versatile Click & Go energy supply for ambitious public transport companies.
